In De Boodschappen (The Groceries), I portray four residents of Utrecht, each going about their shopping in their own way—walking, cycling, rolling, or driving through the streets. In a big city, it often seems as if everyone is moving in the same flow, following the same daily routines. We wake up, go to work, do the shopping. But if you look more closely, you’ll see that no one does things exactly the same way. It’s those small, quirky details that make the everyday just a little more interesting.
